After decontamination and any agreed paint correction, we apply the selected System X coating to prepared exterior surfaces for gloss, water beading and easier routine cleaning.
Glass and wheels
Available glass and wheel-face treatments help shed water and make road grime and brake dust easier to remove. Ask about a wheels-off service for inner barrels and calipers.
Coating over PPF
A compatible coating can go over film and the uncovered painted panels. PPF handles road impacts; coating helps with gloss and maintenance. Film goes on before coating.

What does a ceramic coating do?
A ceramic coating bonds to the prepared surface, adding gloss, chemical resistance and hydrophobic behavior that makes routine cleaning easier.
Does ceramic coating prevent rock chips?
No. Ceramic coating is not thick enough to absorb stone impacts. Paint protection film is the correct solution for rock-chip protection, while coating adds gloss and easier maintenance.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Longevity depends on the selected System X coating, preparation, vehicle use and maintenance. STL Auto Defenders offers protection levels ranging from three to seven years.
Can ceramic coating be applied over PPF?
Yes. A compatible coating can be applied over paint protection film to increase slickness, hydrophobic performance and ease of cleaning.
Does ceramic coating mean I never need to wash the car?
No. Water beading and reduced dirt adhesion make regular washing easier, but the vehicle still needs proper hand washing and maintenance.
Do you correct the paint before coating it?
We wash, decontaminate and inspect the paint. If correction is needed to improve swirls or defects, we discuss and quote that work before coating, because a coating will not hide existing damage.
Can you coat glass, wheels and trim?
Yes. We offer treatments for exterior glass, wheel faces, trim and compatible PPF. Inner wheel barrels and calipers can be included with a separate wheels-off service.
