How does wheels-off coating differ from wheel-face coating?

Wheel-face coating treats the visible outside faces while the wheels are fitted. Removing the wheels gives access to inner barrels and backs, plus selected exposed components. The written quote identifies the additional surfaces and any limits for your vehicle.

A wide spoke opening does not provide the same working access as removing a wheel. Inner surfaces can need their own cleaning and preparation. Wheel design, finish condition and existing contamination affect the work; the upgrade is not simply an extra coat on the outside.

What does the wheels-off upgrade cost in Arnold?

Our wheels-off ceramic coating upgrade starts at $399. Confirm the final vehicle-specific scope and price before booking. Standard wheel faces, glass and exterior trim remain included in the main coating package.

Tell us about aftermarket wheels, previous refinishing, damaged finishes or any known wheel-hardware concerns when requesting an estimate. We review these details before agreeing to the work rather than treating every wheel setup as identical.

Does coating stop brake dust from building up?

No. Brakes still produce dust. A suitable coating supports easier routine cleaning of the treated surfaces; it does not stop dust production or make a wheel permanently clean.

Regular cleaning remains necessary, especially on vehicles that quickly accumulate visible dust. Follow the care instructions for the selected coating and wheel finish. Do not assume a stronger wheel cleaner or aggressive scrubbing is safe simply because the wheel has been coated.

Are brake rotors and pads coated too?

No. Brake friction surfaces are not coating targets. The agreed work concerns suitable wheel surfaces and selected caliper or suspension surfaces, with those areas identified before the job.

This is a cosmetic protection and maintenance service, not a brake repair or mechanical overhaul. Discuss the actual surfaces with us if you have modified brakes, unusual finishes or components that need separate attention.

Will ceramic coating repair curb rash, peeling paint or corrosion?

No. Coating does not rebuild damaged metal, repair peeling finishes or remove the need for refinishing. We inspect the condition first and discuss whether cosmetic repair or other work should happen before coating.

Photos should include the whole wheel and close-ups of damage. Cleaning and surface preparation cannot turn an unsuitable finish into a sound one. A chip or curb mark can remain visible after protection is applied.

Is wheels-off coating useful for a daily driver?

It can be useful if keeping the inner wheels cleaner and easier to maintain matters to you. Compare the additional access with your wheel design, cleaning habits and budget; it is an optional upgrade.

For an Arnold, Oakville or Fenton commuter, outside wheel-face coating may meet your priorities. An owner who cleans inner barrels or wants selected caliper surfaces treated may value the extra work. We explain the difference so the decision follows your maintenance goals.

How do I care for the wheels after coating?

Follow the instructions for your exact coating and wheel finish, allow the specified curing period, clean wheels when cool and use suitable nonabrasive tools. Coating does not eliminate washing or careful drying.

Ask before trying a new chemical cleaner, acidic product or abrasive brush. If contamination does not release with the recommended method, send us photos and the cleaner details. A change in water behavior by itself does not identify the cause or prove the coating has failed.
