A customer brought his two-year-old Silverado High Country to us after having paint protection film installed elsewhere. The patterns were not aligned, some cuts looked jagged, and edges were lifting. He had reached out to the original shop several times to have the issues addressed but did not receive a call back.

He asked STL Auto Defenders to remove the film and replace the coverage already on his truck. It is a frustrating position for any owner: paying for protection, then having to pay attention to the film itself every time you walk up to the vehicle.

The installation is part of the product

Good PPF should follow the vehicle’s lines and sit cleanly on the panel. The fit of a pattern, the finish at an edge, and careful preparation all affect how the film looks and holds up. Film can offer strong protection while a rushed installation still leaves visible gaps, exposed edges or sections that begin to lift.

When comparing PPF work, take a close look at the bumper corners, hood and fender edges, headlights and mirror caps. Ask how the shop handles pattern fit, whether edges can be wrapped on your vehicle, and what happens if an installation issue needs attention later.

How we approach a full front

We use computer-cut patterns and a hybrid approach when needed. For many full fronts, we install the hood from bulk film to wrap the edges for a cleaner look; other panels may call for a pattern or custom fit. We do not cut film directly on your paint. Each vehicle gets preparation, installation, drying, heat-sealing and a final inspection with the owner involved throughout.

We have been serving the St. Louis area since 2003. Our PPF carries a lifetime warranty for the original owner, and we want customers to know who to contact if they have a question after pickup.

What to ask before booking PPF

  • Which panels are included, and are the hood and fenders full coverage or partial coverage?
  • How will the shop finish the edges and fit the patterns on your exact vehicle?
  • Who installs the film, and who handles questions or warranty concerns afterward?
  • Can you see close-up examples of completed work, not only wide vehicle photos?

Not all PPF installations are the same. If you are considering protection for a new truck or car, we are happy to walk through the coverage, show you the details and give you a vehicle-specific quote.
